TCU Horned Frogs
The TCU Horned Frogs qualified for the College Football Playoff this season despite losing their last game in the Big 12 title game to Kansas State. Fortunately for TCU, there were so many big name programs that lost twice this year, that they did not drop in the rankings because of that loss. Now TCU will try to prove that it belongs on the biggest stage in college football with a win here against Michigan.
For TCU, stopping the run is going to be the key to this game. They allowed nearly 150 rushing yards per game this season. Against a Michigan team that averages 243 yards per game on the ground, the Horned Frogs will have to be better against the run to win this contest.
Michigan Wolverines
The Michigan Wolverines were one of two undefeated teams in college football this season. They went 13-0, winning the Big Ten title with a win over Purdue, and beating Ohio State before that. But Michigan's season will be all for naught if they are not able to beat TCU and get to the national championship game.
For Michigan, the recipe on offense is going to continue to be running the football. But on defense, they have to contain Max Duggan from start to finish here. Duggan is great at breaking the pocket and making plays with his legs. If Michigan cannot prevent that, TCU could find a way to steal this semifinal.
