Michigan Wolverines
The Michigan Wolverines are off to a 4-2 start this season, including two straight wins over the Cal State Fullerton Titans in a double header on Sunday. Michigan's offense was excellent in that double header sweep, scoring 16 runs across their two victories at Goodwin Field. Here, they will look for another offensive outburst in order to earn a series sweep over the Titans in impressive fashion.
Greg Pace Jr. will be a key for the Wolverines if they are going to win this contest, as he had an extra-base hit in both games on Sunday. He hit a home run in Game 1 on Sunday, along with a triple in Game 2. If he can continue to deliver in Monday's series finale, the Wolverines could walk away with a 5-2 record going into their next series.
Cal State Fullerton Titans
Cal State Fullerton struggled on Sunday, dropping both games of their double header with Michigan, falling to 2-4 on the season as a result. They could not keep up with Michigan offensively in that game, which could cause them a problem if that does not change in Monday's series finale at Goodwin Field.
Late inning pitching will need to improve for the Titans to prevent a Wolverines sweep on Monday night. They gave up a combined five runs in the two eighth innings they played on Sunday. If the bullpen for the Titans cannot put a lid on things late, things could go from bad to worse for the Titans here.
