Why bet on LSU:
✅ Mark Skenes, arguably the best pitcher in America, is on the mound for LSU and that should help them shut the door on Wake Forest here

LSU Tigers
The LSU Tigers did what they needed to do in order to set up this win or go home matchup with Wake Forest. LSU beat the Demon Deacons 5-2 on Wednesday in order to push this half of the College World Series bracket to a deciding game. Now, the Tigers will send their ace to the mound with the hope of setting up a championship series against an SEC rival in the Florida Gators.
Paul Skenes has pitched three times in the month of June, and the Tigers have won all three of those games by at least three runs. In those three starts against Tulane, Kentucky, and Tennessee, he has allowed just four earned runs and has struck out 33 batters. If he does indeed pitch in this game, the Tigers will have a huge advantage in their quest to reach the championship series.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons were not able to take care of business on Wednesday against the LSU Tigers to reach the championship series in Omaha. While the Demon Deacons had a significant rest advantage over LSU, the Tigers shut down the bats of the Deacs to force Thursday's deciding game between the two clubs. But Wake Forest has an ace of their own to send to the mound for this game in the form of Rhett Lowder.
Lowder has pitched in three Wake Forest wins in three starts in the month of June, with those wins coming against Maryland, Alabama, and Stanford. But Lowder has not looked nearly as invincible as Skenes in those starts, giving up eight earned runs in those three outings. Lowder will need to be at or near his best here if the Demon Deacons are going to find a way to beat Skenes and face Florida for the national title starting on Saturday.
