Liverpool

Liverpool advanced to the final stage after defeating Villarreal, despite a rough start. The team finished the game with a 3-2 scoreboard. This victory was also a comeback for the Reds to the final stage after five seasons.

Jurgen Klopp’s team was having a rough start as his players were unable to score even a single goal in the first half. Liverpool, who were aiming for a quadruple by winning the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and Champions League all in the same season, fought back and scored their first goal with 62 minutes remaining.

Liverpool have no players on the suspension list currently. On the injury list, the Reds have Roberto Firmino, who’s recovering from a leg injury. Firmino showed great progress in recovery but still remained benched.

Real Madrid

Los Blancos defeated Manchester City 6-5 via aggregate in Wednesday’s semifinal and secured a spot in the final stage. Just like Liverpool, Real Madrid made a comeback after five years in the 2017-18 season to reach the final stage.

Before playing against Manchester City, Real Madrid also defeated Chelsea in both legs. It was Rodrygo and Benzema’s goals that led the team to the semifinals at that time. The duo didn’t stop there and continued to give their all during the semifinals, which led them to the final stage.

It’s safe to say Benzema is Real Madrid’s star player. He has scored 10 goals in six knockout matches and helped the team reach this stage. Benzema also got some support from Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior to strengthen the team for the upcoming match against Liverpool.

Real Madrid’s current injury list consists of Eden Hazard with a fissure in the fibula and Gareth Bale with back trouble. Hazard will not be playing in the final match while Bale’s return date is still unknown.
