2022 was not a memorable season for the Kansas State baseball program, and 2023 is looking similar, even considering the hot start. The team finished a middling .500 in 2022, but had some serious issues within their own conference. Even with a .500 overall record, the team finished eight games below .500 in the Big 12. All expectations are that they finish at the bottom of the conference once again.
Lamar Cardinals
Lamar had quite a successful season in 2022, compiling a 37-21 overall record and a 20-10 conference record. All signs point towards success once again and to be competitive in the Southland Conference. Both McNeese and Southeastern are projected to finish ahead of Lamar in the conference, but this is a team with the pitching to remain competitive throughout the season.
