Scottie Scheffler +225
It has been a remarkable ride for Scheffler, who started the year with no victories on the Tour and went on to win four times in six starts. Scheffler's impressive run culminated with his victory at the Masters. He has also taken over the top spot on the OWGR list and the money list of the professional tour.
If he can win the Tulsa tournament, Scheffler, the current World No. 1, will become the first player to successfully defend his title at the same event since Jack Nicklaus in 1975.
After a week off, Scheffler is expected to be back in his best form when the Southern Hills tournament begins. He played well at the Zurich Classic and tied for second with Ryan Palmer.
Patrick Cantlay +300
Defending champion Patrick Cantlay will start the tournament at East Lake GC in two strokes behind FedEx Cup leader Scheffler. Last year, Cantlay started the tournament in first place and held on to beat Jon Rahm. If he had finished in a tie for fourth, he would have gained over six strokes due to his ball-striking.
Coming off a victory at the BMW Championship, Cantlay has a similar approach to the tournament. In terms of gaining strokes, he did so differently in 2021. That year, the 30-year-old rode a strong putting performance to a 14.6-stroke win at Caves Valley GC. Last week, he showed off his ball-striking skills by making nine putts in a row during the final round at Wilmington CC. He has also finished in the top 15 in seven of his eight starts.

Xander Schauffele didn't have his best round on Sunday's game, but his irons and driver played much better as they have gained over four strokes in six of his last seven tournaments. He's tied with Rory McIlroy for the most strokes gained off the tee at East Lake. He's also near the top of the leaderboard in various other categories, such as driving distance, putting, and 3-putt avoidance.
After struggling at the FedEx St. Jude, which was his first tournament of the year, Scheffler has been one of the most consistent players on the field. He has won two of his last five starts and finished outside the top 20 once in his last nine tournaments.
