Texas A&M vs. Ole Miss Betting Preview
Last updated January 7, 2022
This will be a fascinating matchup between two teams trying to improve their chances at earning a third SEC berth into the New Year's Six bowl games. Both Ole Miss and Texas A&M enter this game with matching 7-2 records, but very different ways of reaching those marks. The Rebels have won mostly with offense led by quarterback Matt Corral's dual-threat abilities. Texas A&M has mostly won with a stiff defense that hasn't given up much all season long.

Texas A&M and Ole Miss will square off at 7 p.m. Eastern at Vaught Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi.
Why bet on the Aggies:
✅ Texas A&M is a running-based offense, averaging 191 rushing yards per game. The Aggies have rushed for at least 200 yards in three straight games and are facing an Ole Miss defense that is allowing 195 rushing yards per game, including five of its last six opponents rushing for more than 200 yards against them.
✅ Texas A&M has held each of its last three opponents to less than 100 rushing yards and less than 250 passing yards. Ole Miss has rushed for at least 140 yards in eight of nine games this season and has thrown for more than 300 yards in each of its last two games.
✅ Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral has accounted for two or fewer touchdowns in each of his last four games after accounting for at least three scores four times in the first five games of the season. He has thrown only six touchdown passes in five SEC games and both of his interceptions this season came in conference games.
✅ Ole Miss has yet to beat a team with a winning SEC record this season, winning all three of their conference games against teams at .500 or worse in the league. The Aggies hold two such wins already this season with victories over Alabama and Auburn, the two teams to beat the Rebels this season.
✅ Texas A&M has won seven of the 10 meetings between these two schools since 1975, including the last three games between the teams. Since joining the SEC in 2012, Texas A&M is 4-1 in Oxford against Ole Miss.
Texas A&M
It was looking sideways for the Aggies after they lost their first two SEC games, but an upset of Alabama at home turned around their season. Texas A&M has won four straight games and been pretty dominant in rolling to its 4-2 record in the conference. Only two teams all season long have scored more than 20 points on the Aggies and six have been held to 14 points or fewer this season. The issue for the Aggies is an offense that relies heavily on the running game and struggles when it needs to throw the ball.
Ole Miss
The Rebels are a perfect 7-0 outside the state of Alabama with road losses to Alabama and Auburn as their only two blemishes. Ole Miss has a potent offense led by dual-threat quarterback Matt Corral, which allows the Rebels to be versatile in attacking opponents' weak points. The question mark is the defense, which operates a lot on a dangerous bend-but-don't-break scheme. It's worked thus far against inferior opponents but Ole Miss hasn't secured that big win just yet.
