Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns are in the top-six in the Western Conference once again, but have not looked as good as they have in recent seasons. They have really struggled on the road, as they enter Christmas Day below the .500 mark in road games. Here, they will look to get a key road win over a Nuggets team they could see in the playoffs.
For the Suns, the number one key to success in this contest is going to be finding a way to slow down Nikola Jokic. Deandre Ayton has a lot of physical advantages over Jokic, but the creativity and versatility of Jokic could make him a problem nonetheless.
Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets could be the top team in the Western Conference standings going into Christmas night. No matter where they are in the standings, though, they are a slight favorite going into their game against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. There, they will look to continue playing well at home, and prolong the Suns' misery on the road.
While Nikola Jokic is one of the best players on the planet, Aaron Gordon deserves a lot of credit for the way the Nuggets are playing this season. While Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. have dealt with sporadic injuries this season, Gordon has been a great sidekick for Jokic throughout the year. He will need to be great on both ends of the floor to help the Nuggets win here.
