Pittsburgh Panthers releases Official schedule

Last updated June 2, 2022

The Pittsburgh Panthers have shared the team’s 2022 playing schedule recently for the team’s 12 upcoming games from September to November this year.

Pittsburgh was 11-3 overall and had a great run last year, suffering only three defeats out of 14 games played. The Panthers were only defeated by the Michigan State Spartans, Miami Hurricanes, and West Michigan Broncos.

Looking back, the program was outstanding during the ACC Coastal Division, beating other division contenders and securing the Coastal top position over the Virginia Tech Hokies and Hurricanes.

Panthers to play West Virginia Mountaineers, more

Pittsburgh has been scheduled to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers on September 1, 2022. Both teams did not share the field last season and the upcoming matchup by the end of the year will have the Panthers as the hosting team at their home turn Heinz Field.

After West Virginia, Pittsburgh will host the visiting Tennessee Volunteers on September 10. Tennessee will be given a chance for a rematch after a 41-34 defeat last year. Seven days later, the Panthers will tour and play an away game with West Michigan, one of the three only teams Pittsburgh conceded to in a tight 44-41 game.

After a single away game, the program will host three home games on September 24 against the Rhode Island Rams. The two other games are scheduled for the following month on October 1 hosting the visiting Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and a week later, the Panthers will host Virginia Tech.

Pittsburgh also has been given quite an empty huge gap after playing the Hokies since the team’s two upcoming matchups are away games. The first stop is where Pittsburgh will plot up a course to visit the Louisville Cardinals on October 22 at Cardinal Stadium and the second away game also being the last in October is playing the North Carolina Tar Heels.

The final four games have been scheduled in November in evenly split home and away games. The first game in November will have the Panthers hosting the Syracuse Orange on November 5. A week later, Pittsburgh will visit the Virginia Cavaliers at David A. Harrison III Field at Scott Stadium.

The next game is yet another home game for the Panthers against the Duke Blue Devils on November 19. Lastly, November wraps for Pittsburgh in a chance to return the favor back to the Hurricanes after last year’s defeat of 38-34. The Panthers will visit Miami at Hard Rock Stadium on November 26.

Panthers to conduct official visit

Ahead of the packed Fall schedule for the Panthers, this week the program will conduct an official visit, where the program will not only host players visiting the university, but also a chance to have more time with the program.

The visit has been scheduled for Friday this week, however, according to multiple reports, some players will arrive on Thursday evening in Pittsburgh.

Despite the oftentimes bright aspects of the visit, the program might want to be slightly careful in rolling up scholarships for prospective players. There have been a few cases where scholarship is not equal to commitment as players may opt for the transfer portal.

There will be a total of 14 prospective players set to attend the Panthers’ official visit event which comprises 10 three-star players, and four four-star players, as per Pittsburgh Sports’ Mike Vukovcan.
