Abilene Christian Wildcats
2022 was not the year the Abilene Christian Wildcats hoped for in the WAC, but they are off to a better start in 2023. With some competition exiting the WAC and improvement from the Wildcats, they have higher expectations than last season. While they are not the favorites in the WAC, they are one of a handful of teams expected to give real competition to the likes of Grand Canyon and Sam Houston.
Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma had a magnificent run to close out the 2022 season. They lost in the college world series to Mississippi and the MLB draft was reflective of of that outcome. They saw a nation high eleven players get selected, obviously hurting their talent pool for 2023. The new bats in the lineup in 2023 have been evident, as they have had difficulty putting up runs in their early matchups. In terms of projected finish, Oklahoma is expected to be just a middling Big 12 team.
