When the NC State Wolfpack faced the Clemson Tigers last week, they were defeated 30-20. NC State finished with 279 yards on 69 passes and 21 carries for 34 yards. Devin Leary completed 28 of 47 passes for 245 yards, one touchdown and one interception. In the ground game, Jordan Houston carried the ball seven times for 32 yards, giving the Wolfpack a 4.6-yard-per-carry average.
NC State's offense has produced 1,259 passing yards, 664 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns this season. Meanwhile, the defense has allowed 15.4 points per game, ranking 19th in the FBS.
Trent Pennix is the only NC State player unable to play due to a left arm injury, and he is expected to be out until the middle of October.
Florida State Seminoles
In Week 5, the Florida State Seminoles were defeated 31-21 by the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Seminoles ran for 112 yards on 28 attempts for 4.0 yards per rush, but their defense let them down en route to their first loss of the season.
Facing the Demon Deacons, Florida State allowed 171 yards on 51 rush attempts (3.4 yards per rush) and 22 completions on 34 pass attempts for 234 yards. In that game, Jordan Travis went 23-of-35 for 281 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Treshaun Ward had 13 rushing attempts for 87 yards in the losing effort.
The Seminoles average 203.8 rushing yards per game, ranking 24th in Division 1. So far, the team has allowed 21.2 points per game, 750 total rushing yards and 897 passing yards.
There are several Florida State players injured on the roster. Ja'khi Douglas (arm) and Winston Wright Jr. (leg) are out indefinitely and will not play against the Wolfpack. Amari Gainer (leg), Fabien Lovett (leg), Robert Scott Jr. (knee) and Darion Williamson (undisclosed) are still questionable.
