The Los Angeles Lakers have had a rough start to their season, as they are outside of the top-10 in the Eastern Conference standings. They are missing Anthony Davis, which has made it tougher than usual for them to play defense. Here, the Lakers will need to find a way to get some stops against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.
Los Angeles will need to find a way to get some help for LeBron James in this contest. James is always able to get to the rim, but without any decent shooting around him, this could be another long day against Doncic in Dallas.
Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks have been in the top-10 in the Western Conference throughout this season, but they have not been an elite team by any stretch of the imagination. They have sorely missed the presence of Jalen Brunson this year, and need to find some scoring help for Doncic. Here, they look to take advantage of a Lakers team that has simply not been good defensively all year.
In the Western Conference, the Mavericks are just a couple of games back of the top-six in the standings. But without a competent second scorer, they are not going to get there. Tim Hardaway Jr. will be a key player in this game, and the rest of the season as he should be the one filling that role.
