Kansas City Chiefs vs Arizona Cardinals 9/11/2022 Prediction and FanDuel Sportsbook Promo
Last updated June 11, 2024
The Kansas City Chiefs are traveling to State Farm Stadium to face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, September 11 for their 2022-23 season opener.
The Chiefs come into this season looking to rebound from their loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game last season. But they lost some key pieces that could make it hard for them to make another deep run in the playoffs this year. On the Cardinals' side, they lost in the Wild Card round in the last postseason, and are hoping that Kyler Murray can stay healthy to improve their playoff prospects in the 2022 season.

Why bet on the Kansas City Chiefs?
✅ The Chiefs had a better straight up record than the Arizona Cardinals last season, and the Chiefs should keep that trend going in the 2022 season opener.
✅ The Chiefs are a superior offensive team, as their quarterback play through Patrick Mahomes is superior to that of Kyler Murray of the Cardinals. The quarterback play of the Chiefs should be enough to get them a win here.
✅ Kansas City also has a coaching edge ahead of this game, as Andy Reid is vastly superior to Kliff Kingsbury.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Arizona Cardinals
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs have solid momentum coming into the new season. They earned the AFC West division title for the sixth straight season and managed to finish their 2021 campaign with a 12-5 record. While they fell short in the AFC Championship Game last season, there is still plenty to like about the Chiefs going into this year.
The Chiefs have high expectations as Mahomes is back for another season under center in Kansas City. Last season, he threw for 4,000+ yards for the fourth straight season and threw 37 touchdown passes to just 13 interceptions. Mahomes will be supported by a promising receiving corps consisting of JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Mecole Hardman to make up for the loss of Tyreek Hill during the offseason.
Arizona Cardinals
Last season, the Arizona Cardinals went 11-6 and made the playoffs, but were blown out in the Wild Card round against the Los Angeles Rams. This year, the Cardinals will look to bounce back from that playoff loss and prove that they are playoff material once again in 2022.
QB Kyler Murray is back for this season, and he has a new weapon in Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. While the Cardinals will have to wait a few weeks to get Deandre Hopkins back after he was suspended during the offseason, there is still plenty of offensive talent on this roster that should be able to carry them through the first month of the season.
The latest injury report added key players WR Rondale Moore who strained his hamstrings and OL Cody Ford who injured his ankle. Both tight end Zach Ertz and defensive end J.J. Watt sustained leg injuries, together while linebacker Ezekiel Turner and running back Jonathan Ward have to be sidelined with shoulder injuries.
