FanDuel Sportsbook Review

FanDuel is a large sportsbook that operates in all states in which sports gambling has been legalized. They are close in comparison to the top sportsbooks, DraftKings and BetMGM. While they are not quite on the level of the industry leaders, they do have some real upsides and are a larger company and better product than some smaller competitors, such as William Hill and WynnBet. The best thing about FanDuel comes right of the gate. They have a very generous sign up promotion on which they offer a risk free bet, up to $1000.

Overall they are a high quality sportsbook that comes highly reccomended.

FanDuel Bonuses and Promotions

FanDuel does very well to draw in new customers with a fantastic sign up promotion. They offer a risk free bet that is good up to $1000. There is no promo code needed, simply a new user signing up is all that's needed. This promotition is very simple. The first bet, up to $1000, is exactly how it sounds. If the wager wins, it is paid out. If the wager loses, the user is credited with bets matching the amoung of the loss. It is a great way to get off to a strong start on the FanDuel platform.

Needless to say, be as aggressive as possible with the amount of the risk free bet, as it is one time offer. The larger the wager the better, up to $1000.

The sign up bonus is not the only one available on FanDuel. They do a good job of offering small bonuses and free money when wagering on specific sports. For instance, they are offering bonuses for all users on the Olympics and additionally extra value added for new users.

There are also other offerings such as odds enhancement, parlay insurance and other offerings hinging on specific outcomes in specific games in specific sports.

In totality, FanDuel does well to give its users strong value on the bonus and promotion front.

FanDuel Website and Mobile App

FanDuel has an involved and fairly easy to use platform on both mobile and desktop. Of course this comes as no surprise, as FanDuel, just like DraftKings, started as a daily fantasy sports site with the intention of making the transition to a sports book. That became an option in 2018 and FanDuel operates in all states in which sports betting is legal.

Both the website and mobile app feature easy to use navigation and an intuitive interface. Once logging in, it is very easy to locate both which promotions are available to you and which sports you want to bet on. It is truly a great positive to see value creating bonues on each login, and FanDuel does a great job in this area.

Once logged in, finding the psort you're looking for is a piece of cake. There is also a “live now” tab that shows what live betting offerings are available at any given time. This tab is for betting on sporting events that are already in progress.

Another great feature of FanDuel is easily accessing your bet slip. You will never have to click off the current page whether in the app or on the website to see what plyas yu have loaded in your bet slip.

While the FanDuel platorm is overall a good one, there are a handful of drawbacks. The app will often take a few seconds to load a page, which is not the end of the world but slightly faster navigation could never hurt. Finding some smaller market offerings and props can be difficult, particularly if the props are within a given game and not a season long prop. The worst part of the FanDuel platform is the difficulty in finding support. Whether this is by design or not, it is frustrating to have to jump through hoops to send a support message.

Responsible Gaming

FanDuel offers four different options for its customers to ensure their game experience is a responsible on, not just a fun one. We reccomend mapping out what can be safely wagered and using any of the controls that FanDuel makes available to your benefit, if at all necessary.

The four options available are:

  • Deposit limit - this allows you to put a cap on what you are allowed to deposit in a set period of time.
  • Betting limit - this allows you to put a cap on the amount of money that can be wagered in a set period of time.
  • Time out - this allows you to prevent yourself frm accessing your account for a set period of time.
  • Usage limit - You can cap the amount of time you spend on the site in a given day.

Bet Types Available

FanDuel does a solid job iof making many betting markets available, but they, like all other sportsbooks, continue to trail DraftKings in the amount of wagering offerings in terms of smaller markets and prop offerings. FanDuel does great to bring many offerings for college sports.

FanDuel does cover all of the main bet types, most all of the sporting world and they do a solid job overall with offerings. Here are the types of bets FanDuel offers:

  • Against the spread (ATS)
  • Over/Under
  • Moneyline
  • Halves
  • Live
  • Futures
  • Team props
  • Player props

Here are the sports markets offered on FanDuel:

NFLNBAUFC/MMANCAA FootballNCAA Basketball
<LBNHLSoccerGolfTennis
NASCARDartsRugbyVolleyballCycling
Table Tennis

Keep in mind that there are sub sets of offerings for many of these sports. For instance, UFC does not only cover the UFC portion of MMA. You may see offerings for promoitions like PFL and Bellator as well. Soccer covers leagues both nationally and internationally.

Additonaly, FanDuel offers prop markets on many of the above sports and leagues, and offers some industry unique markets on sports like PGA.

How Does FanDuel pricing stack up?

For success in betting, one of, if not the most important factor is pricing. How does FanDuel's pricing rank against some of its competitors such as BetMGM and DraftKings?

On standard against the spread (ATS) and over/under wagers, there will not be variance from sportsbook to sportsbook, and FanDuel is no different for these bets. The standard 10% juice or vig is the standard for FanDuel and its competitors.

❌ FanDuel is not consistent in where it lands in moneyline wagering. It is higher (lacking value) in some sports, but is lower (presents more value) in other sports. This is a case where having multiple accounts and comparing pricing can bring you added value on making the same bet you were looking to make on another site. Even still, FanDuel should absolutely be one of the sites on which you have an active account.

✅ On the props side, particulalrly on head to head props, FanDuel is in line with industry leader DraftKings. They will offer the needed -110 on either side while competitiors like BetMGM will be in the -118 area. Where FanDuel falls a bit short of DraftKings is in the amount of these types of offerings, but not in the pricing.

Summed up, FanDuel is a high end sportsbook that should absolutely be one of the accounts you consistently wager on. Their college sports offerings are solid and they are in line with their top competitors in college football and college basketball. They have a very good bonus system, a platform that allows for easy navigation, and often have better pricing than that of their competitors. Only DraftKings is the preferred platform at Sqore, we prefer FanDuel to any other sportsbook.
