Gina Mazany -175 vs Shanna Young
✅ Shanna Young has shown very little in three losses under the UFC banner. Including one fight in Invicta, she has fought four current UFC fighters and has lost all four in convincing fashion. Three of those losses have come by way of finish on the floor. She has been taken down in every fight. Her defensive wrestling and grappling is simply subpar at this level, and she will be dominated in that area once again. I presume Young would want this fight to take place in the stand up, but even then she has not shown any real effectiveness or presented any real danger to her opponents. Suffice it to say Young is not on the level she needs to be to stay in the promotion and this is highly likely to be her last UFC appearance.
✅ Gina Mazany is entering her second fight since her drop to the flyweight division. She lost her first fight at flyweight but this matchup sets up much better for her. Make no mistake, she is never going to be a champion or close to, but she is in a great spot in this fight. Her wrestling and grappling is certainly the best aspect of her game and the glaring weakness of her opponent. She is going to land takedowns without issue and is going to be able to control on top. A finish is certainly well within the range of outcomes, but in any event, she will have no issues winning the first two rounds. The only real issue Mazany could run into in this fight is having her cardio fade very late. She has James Krause in her corner, and he will walk her step by step through a fight that she has every advantage in, and will win easily.
✅ The +220 ITD line on Mazany is somewhat attractive and does bring value. If you wanted to get aggressive and go that route, I would not blame you at all. Or even if you split your bet to half flat and half ITD. I am opting the safe route with the -175 flat line as a decision is more likely than a finish by my view.
