BYU Cougars vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The BYU Cougars are currently sitting on No. 16 with a 4-1 record. In Week 5, they finished their game against the Utah State Aggies with a convincing 38-26 win. The Cougars will try to extend their two-game streak by beating the Fighting Irish in the upcoming game.

On offense, Cougars QB Jaren Hall has recorded 120 completions on 171 pass attempts for 1,438 yards. Hall showed his stellar performance this season with 12 TDs and only got his pass intercepted once. WRs Keanu Hill and Chase Roberts have 552 yards from 31 receptions and five TDs combined. The Cougars' leading rusher, RB Christopher Brooks, has 49 carries for 294 yards and scored four touchdowns.

On defense, the Cougars are allowing 162.6 rushing yards and giving up 175.6 passing yards per game.

Head coach Kalani Sitake reported Puka Nacua and wide receiver Chase Roberts were “probable” for the upcoming game. Safety Malik Moore, who suffered a broken hand two weeks ago, will likely miss the game.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish 

Losing their first two games of the season, the Fighting Irish managed to bounce back by winning their last two games. Last week, they had a bye after defeating the North Carolina Tar Heels 32-45.

Their primary QB, Drew Pyne, played for three games effectively and has 44 completions for 459 yards and six passing TDs.

On the ground game, RB Audric Estime is expected to play as the team leading rusher. So far, he has carried the ball 54 times for 264 yards and four touchdowns.

As Pyne's primary targets, TE Michael Mayer and WR Lorenzo Styles, combined, completed 38 receptions for 454 yards and four TDs in four games.

QB Tyler Buchner is likely to miss the rest of the season after sustaining an injury to his shoulder in the Fighting Irish's loss to the Marshall Thundering Herd in Week 2, per head coach Marcus Freeman.
