San Antonio Brahmas
While a 1-1 record may not seem impressive on paper, the San Antonio Brahmas have looked very impressive through their first two games of this XFL season. After suffering a brutal comeback loss at the hands of the St. Louis BattleHawks in Week 1, the Brahmas bounced back and crushed the Orlando Guardians in Week 2. Here, they look to knock off the presumptive favorites to win the XFL title in the Houston Roughnecks.
If the Brahmas are going to beat the Roughnecks, Jack Coan will need to continue dealing from the quarterback position. Coan and the Brahmas passing attack is tied for second in the XFL in yards per pass attempt, trailing on the Roughnecks in that category. If Coan can keep moving the ball through the air efficiently, it could be San Antonio topping the South after this week.
Houston Roughnecks
The Houston Roughnecks are 2-0 to start the XFL season, and they have been dominant in those two games. They crushed the Orlando Guardians to start the season, and followed that up with a beatdown of the Arlington Renegades. But the Roughnecks will face their biggest test of the season so far against a San Antonio team that is much better offensively than Houston's first two opponents.
This game will be the big test for Roughnecks QB Brandon Silvers, who has taken advantage of a soft schedule early in the year. He leads a Roughnecks passing attack that leads the league with 5.9 yards per pass attempt, but he has thrown two picks this year as well. A sloppy game from Silvers here could see the Roughnecks fall for the first time.
