Baylor vs. TCU Betting Preview
Last updated January 7, 2022
Baylor's high-powered rushing attack heads north to Fort Worth to take on TCU with interim coach Jerry Kill. The Bears came in at No. 12 in the inaugural College Football Playoff rankings of the season and have relied on its strong duo of running backs to carry the offense. TCU has lacked an identity for much of the season and it resulted in parting ways with longtime coach Gary Patterson earlier this week.

This Big 12 contest is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. Eastern kickoff on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.
Why bet the Bears:
✅ Baylor has the eighth-best rushing attack in the nation with an average of 237.4 yards per game, and it is facing the 116th-ranked rushing defense in the country, allowing an average of 204.4 yards per game.
✅ Baylor running back Abram Smith ranks ninth in the country with an average of 116 yards per game and he ranks fourth nationally with an average of 7.4 yards per rush. Smith has run for 11 rushing touchdowns, a little less than half of Baylor's 23 total rushing touchdowns.
✅ TCU running back Zach Evans is questionable for Saturday's contest and the Horned Frogs have scored just 29 points the past two weeks since Evans' injury. During this current three-game losing streak, TCU is losing by an average of 17.3 points.
✅ TCU quarterback Max Duggan has thrown one touchdown or fewer in four of his last five games and has been held under 200 passing yards in three of his last five games. Baylor is allowing just 209 passing yards per game with nine interceptions this season.
✅ Baylor has scored at least 30 points in six of its eight games this season and has allowed more than 24 points just once. TCU has allowed at least 29 points in every game this season against an FBS opponent.
Baylor
The Bears rely on their running game and they have gashed opposing defenses en route to a 7-1 record and the No. 12 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings. The defense has been the nicest surprise, allowing just one team to score more than 24 points on it this season. Baylor has won three straight since its only loss of the season and remains in the hunt for a spot in the Big 12 title game with a showdown looming next week against Oklahoma.
TCU
There is a lot of turmoil with the Horned Frogs at the moment after Gary Patterson was fired this week after 20 years as TCU's head coach. The Horned Frogs have lost three straight games and sit at 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the Big 12. The offense has sputtered the past two weeks coinciding with the injury to running back Zach Evans, but the defense has been the major concern and hasn't looked like a Gary Patterson defense all season long.
