Baltimore Ravens vs New England Patriots
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens stepped up into Week 3 with 1-1. The team won over the New York Jets in Week 1 with a significant 24-9 score gap. While in Week 2, the Ravens need to admit their downgrade performance after losing to the Miami Dolphins. However, with 1-1, the Ravens currently sit 2nd in AFC North and rank 4th in NFL's points per game category at 31.0.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson's best performance was not enough to carry the team against the Dolphins. Jackson was 21-of-29 for 318 yards and three TDs, while WR Rashod Bateman and TE Mark Andrews both had more than 100 receiving yards. The Ravens took a 28-7 lead into halftime, but the defense crumbled in the second half and lost to Miami 42-38.
The Ravens also reported some injury cases after the last game they played. Steven Means and Ronnie Stanley both are held out of the last contest due to ankle injuries. While J.K. Dobbins and Travis Jones also missed the last two games after recovering from ACL surgery and knee sprain. James Proche II is also leaving his availability due to a groin injury and Brandon Stephens is recovering from a quadriceps injury. Devin Duvernay, who exited the last game with a concussion, is unconfirmed to play against the Patriots during Week 3.
New England Patriots
After losing to the Miami Dolphins (20-7) in Week 1, the New England Patriots successfully secured their first regular-season victory with a 17-14 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2. The Patriots are now 1-1 and sit 3rd in AFC East. The team allows 275.0 yards per game, good for the 4th spot in NFL, while the offense is 23rd with 323.5 gained yards.
In the last game with the Steelers, quarterback Mac Jones completed 21 of 35 passes for 252 yards, one touchdown and an interception. WR Nelson Agholor caught six passes for 110 yards. Damien Harris led the backfield for the second week in a row, carrying 15 times for 71 yards and one touchdown.
The Patriots have some injury updates. Kyle Dugger departed from the last game with a knee injury. Following Joshuah Bledsoe, who has been held out of the last two games due to a groin issue, Ja'Whaun Bentley exited the previous game with a back issue. The team officials have yet to confirm whether they will be included in the game against the Ravens during Week 3.
