✅ Alatangheili will look to get back in the win column in this matchup. It is certainly a matchup that sets up well for him, and he should get back in the win column. He's had a draw and a loss after winning two straight. Alatangheili is at his best when he can mix his game up. He is a rounded fighter that can find success in both the stand up and grappling, particularly against a step down in terms of level of opponent. He is a sound boxer and he is quite tough and durable. He is also a solid wrestler and has sound clinch work, that will work to his advantage in this matchup. He will have a wrestling advantage and the earlier he can put it to use, the better.
✅ Kevin Croom started his UFC tenure with a since overturned submission of Roosevelt Roberts. He has dropped two decisions since then, and unfortunately for him it appears number three is on the way. Croom is a fighter that is overly aggressive bordering on reckless in the first round. What does not work for him is that he does not keep the pace he sets. He will attempt to be explosive and end the fight, but Alatangheili will be an extremely difficult fighter to put away at any point in any matchup. Croom's aggression will make the first round the closest of the three rounds. Of course that will likely not be the case if he is taken down early. If Alatangheili gets the fight down early, Croom will likely be behind on gas for the duration. Even if there are no such early takedowns, we will see Croom fade once again. He will be taken down and the later rounds will be extremely hard for him to win.
✅ This matchmaking has the feel of a get right spot for Alatangheili. This is also a tough matchup for Croom, and he is nearing the point where he is fighting for his job. A late finish is in play for Alatangheili, but a decision win is the most likely outcome. We will stick with the -185 flat line.
