Virginia Cavaliers

The Virginia Cavaliers went 5-1 combined across regional and Super Regional play, as they took advantage of an easy path through the Charlottesville regional before going 2-1 against Duke to punch their ticket to Omaha. Virginia has been one of the most impressive teams in college baseball from a statistical standpoint all year, ranking in the top-10 in ERA and runs scored. Here, they are the underdog against Florida, but their statistical performance all year long suggests they may deserve to be the favorites.

Florida Gators

The Florida Gators had to take the hard path through the Gainesville regional, losing their second game to Texas Tech, forcing them to win three straight to get to the Super Regionals. In their Super Regional, though, the Gators managed to win over the South Carolina Gamecocks to reach the College World Series, sweeping their SEC foes over two contests.

Florida's pitching has been off the charts since losing to Texas Tech in the regional round. The Gators have allowed seven runs combined over their last five games, and they will need their pitching staff to continue to deliver at that level to start their CWS campaign off on the right foot.
