The Detroit Lions have done very well to stay in the hunt for the NFL playoffs down to the final week of the regular season. They need a win and a Seattle Seahawks loss to get into the postseason, as Seattle has to play the Los Angeles Rams before Lions vs Packers kicks off. Playoff implications aside, the Lions will look to defeat their rivals to complete a season sweep of the Packers.
Defense will be the key for the Lions in this game, as they need to shut down Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense to have a shot at the playoffs. Detroit intercepted three Aaron Rodgers passes the last time these teams met, and a similar defensive showing could get the Lions a playoff berth.
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers have won four straight games going into Week 18, and they are now just one win away from getting to the playoffs as the seventh seed. After a disastrous start to this season, just being in the mix for the seventh seed is a success story for the Packers. But they will want to finish the job and get into the tournament with a win over Detroit.
Fortunately for the Packers, they are at home in this game, meaning Detroit is not. Detroit has been a losing team on the road this year, and the Packers will like their chances to get the better of them to get a playoff spot at the expense of their rivals.
