Ole Miss vs Aurburn
Ole Miss Rebels
For these past weeks, Ole Miss baseball team seems to be doing fine and starting to look like they're really playing for NCAA championship. Yet, there's a lot more to be done and hard work if they want this season to work in their favor. Supposedly, the team needs to win eight games of its last 11 regular season to have a fighting chance at making to the NCAA tournament.
Although seemingly being an underdog, The Rebels prove that they can be quite unpredictable and manage to score a clean sweep. In their last match, the team beats Southern Miss by 10-0, which is their first shutout victory of the season. This opening may indicate that this will be a good season for them.
Having managed to score six extra base hits, seven runs and serven RBIs, Tim Elko of Ole Miss' Rebels was crowned as the Regional MVP. He managed to land three home runs in the game. This is quite notable, as not only is this is his first three-homer game of his career, but also the first time The Rebels has ever done in the NCAA Tournament.
Earlier this season, Auburn's The Tigers faced against Oregon State and won, with final score 4-3, earning their victory at The Corvallis Super Regional. While their victory will lead them to face Ole Miss' The Rebels, that was quite a close call for the team and they may be having a tough opponent in their hands.
The last time The Tigers facing The Rebels was in the middle of March, and it was a very difficult match for the former, having defeated with 37-22. Considering the result of the past match, they may need to prepare themselves some more before facing Ole Mills in order to leave with victory.
Auburn infielder Brody Moore has been a vital player of The Tigers' throughout the tournament. It's thanks to thim that they managed to win against Oregon State, scoring 51 runs across three games. At first starting as a freshman in 2019, now that he is a senior, he's looking forward to make a difference when facing Ole Miss.
