NFL has released its most awaited schedule for the 2022 season. The schedule provides detailed information on three weeks long of matchups in addition to five international games in the United Kingdom, German, and Mexico.

Prior to the release, the NFL had teased fans that international games would be returning to Europe and all 32 teams home openers for the first week.

With the release of the schedule, this season's NFL games will begin on September 8 with a game between Super Bowl LVI Champion Los Angeles Rams and AFC leading contender Buffalo Bills.

2022 NFL Schedule, game openers

Eight months after the Rams came out of the SoFi Stadium as the Super Bowl LVI Champion, the grand journey to find the next titleholder will begin on September 8 and finish on January 8, 2023.

The 2022 NFL season will have the Rams as the first team from California to host the league’s opener against a marquee opponent. This season also marked the second NFL season to have 18 weeks.

After a matchup between the Rams and the Bills, New Orleans Saints will play Atlanta Falcons on September 11. The Rams also have been scheduled for the NFL's first-ever tripleheader game on Christmas against the Denver Broncos.

Legendary veteran quarterback Tom Brady will return on Sunday Night Football as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. On the following day is the first NFL Monday Night Football where the Broncos will make a journey to the Pacific Northwest in a matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

Quarterback Russell Wilson is slated to return to the NFL with Denver after he was signed in March this year. He was released by Seattle following his injury and had to part ways with the franchise that he once led as a QB for 10 straight seasons.

A week later, a Monday doubleheader game between the Bills and Philadelphia Eagles will take place. In the same week, Prime Video’s first game of the season will take place in the Kansas City Chiefs' home opener game as they take on the rival Los Angeles Chargers.
